Hello.
My name is Sarah, the person behind Sirah Hair Studio. With over a decade of experience working in leading salons across Canada, Singapore, and New Zealand, I have long dreamed of creating a space of my own. This studio reflects careful thought, blending the best elements from the salons I’ve worked in, and leaving out the parts I didn’t enjoy.
Life and wine led me to Marlborough, New Zealand’s largest wine region at the top of the South Island. Here, I not only discovered a passion for wine but also fell in love with my husband. Sirah Hair Studio is nestled in Renwick, the heart of Marlborough’s wine country, offering all services in a private, one-on-one setting.
My approach to hairdressing is simple: to help people feel more beautiful and confident while preserving the integrity of their hair. I strive to provide exceptional, quality hair services and products with precision and genuine care. I choose to work with sustainable, natural brands like O&M and Davroe; Plant-based Australian brands free from ammonia, PPD, resorcinol, sulphates, parabens, and petrochemicals. Sirah Hair Studio will be the first and only salon in the region to be providing O&M colour.
I believe true beauty comes from within, and that a great hairstyle has the power to amplify that confidence. More than just delivering excellent hair, I value the transformative experience of human connection and care. When you sit in my chair, you will receive not only outstanding hair but also thoughtful attention.
I look forward to welcoming and connecting with each of you.
With love,
Sarah.

THE NAME.
As you would have read by now, my name is Sarah.
My family calls me “rah”.
李瑞思 “Lee Rui Si” is my Chinese name.
One of my favourite wines is Syrah; Pronounced “See-rah”.
I always thought it sounded similar to my name, Sarah.
When deciding what to name my studio, I was inspired by my husband’s last name, “Whyte,” and how the word is usually spelled with an ‘i’; White.
I decided to play around with the letters, and…
was born.
THE LOGO.
I wanted to create a simple yet abstract logo to symbolize my love for hair and wine.
While sketching, I focused on circles and smooth lines, which led me to this shape.
What do you see when you look at it?
When I first asked my husband, he said he saw three moons...
The first thing I saw was a
glass of wine
from a “bird’s eye view”.
Then I noticed the back of my
Dyson hairdryer.
